Curtain Measuring Guide

For images and descriptions of Pencil Pleat, Knife Pleat, Double Pinch Pleat, Triple Pinch Pleat, Box, Eyelet and S-Fold heading styles (click here).

 

Ready Made Pencil Pleat Curtains are sold by the Track width the Pair in the pack will cover

Ready Made Pinch and Box Pleat Curtains are sold by the pre-pleated (headed) width of both curtains in the pack.

Ready Made Eyelet Curtains are sold by the Flat curtain width when they are a single curtain per pack OR if the come in Pairs by the Rod width range they will both cover when there is a Pair of curtains in the pack. 

Custom Made Curtains are all sold by entering your Track (or Rod) width and adding the centre Overlap and end bracket Return options if they are required. On top of this Curtains on the Net will add extra width for Creepage and allow the necessary fullness for your chosen heading style. Height is simply the Curtain height you require. 

(Centre Overlaps and end bracket Returns are not possible on Eyelet or S-Fold heading styles). 

How to measure the perfect width and height for your new Curtains

If you have selected your heading style and type of track/rod you are ready to take measurements.

Pencil, Knife, Pinch or Box Pleat headed curtains can be hung on either a Curtain Track or a Rod with Rings.

Eyelet curtains can only be hung on a Rod. 

S-Fold curtains must be ordered with one of the matching track options on the same order page.

 

Measuring for standard Curtain Tracks;

Width is from end to end of the track.

If you having a Pair of curtains on a Cord Drawn track you will have carrier arms that Overlap in the middle, say Yes to the Overlap option and we will add width for this.

If your hand or cord drawn track has end brackets you want to cover with curtains say Yes to the appropriate Returns option and we will add width for this.

Height is from the top of the track to your desired length. Please *add 1 cm if your track is Face mounted and you want your curtain to sit higher than the track.

 

Measuring for Rod & Ring sets and Rod only (for Eyelets);

Width is from end to end of the rod (not any decorative ends).

Height is measured from under the large ring to the desired finished length just off the floor.

For Eyelets on rods (only) the Height is from top of rod to desired finished length. +**Add 3cms as the top of the eyelet curtain will sit higher than the rod.

 

Measuring for S-Fold Curtains;

Curtain Width is the exact same width you want the track to be. 

Curtain Height is from the top of the Track down to the desired length. 

 

In all cases Curtains on the Net will allow extra width for Creepage if necessary and sufficient fullness for the relevant Heading Style.

If your hand drawn track has end brackets you can cover these by ticking the Returns option on the curtain order page. Height Measure from 1cm above the top of the track down to your desired finished length.

My track looks like this Suitable for Pencil, Knife, Pinch & Box Pleat curtains [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height Width Measure width from one end of rod to the opposite end, not including finials.  Height Measure from just under the rod down to your desired finished length.

My track looks like this Suitable for Pinch, Pencil & Inverted Pleat curtains [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height Width Measure width from one end of track to the opposite end. Tick the centre Overlap and Return options on the order page. Height Measure from 1cm above the top of the track down to your desired finished length.

My track looks like this Suitable for Eyelets, Tabs & Concealed Tabs curtains [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height Width Measure width from one end of rod to the opposite end, not including finials.  Height Measure from the top of the rod down to your desired finished length. For Eyelets allow 3cms more as the top of the curtain sits above the rod.

Rod only can be used for Eyelets (without rings) [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height [ ] wide x [ ] height Width Measure width from one end of rod to the opposite end, not including finials.  Height Measure from under the large ring down to your desired finished length. For Eyelets measure from top of Rod down to your desired length and add 3 cms.
